Most residential floor coatings are completed in one day on site, depending on the surface condition and prep required. Larger or badly damaged slabs can take two days, and we tell you that at the quote.
Walk on the surface within 24 hours. Vehicles and heavier traffic after 48 to 72 hours, depending on temperature and curing conditions.
Yes. The system bonds to bare, open concrete, whether it is old, new or previously coated. Old paint, sealer or epoxy is ground off first, because coatings only last when they bond into the slab.
Minimal. Sweep and mop as needed. The coated surface is non-porous, so dirt, dust and stains stay on top.
Yes. The polyaspartic topcoat resists oil, gasoline, salt, coolant and household chemicals, so spills wipe up instead of soaking in.
It depends far more on the prep than the chemistry. A polyurea and polyaspartic system over a properly ground slab with the cracks repaired is a long-term surface that does not need periodic re-sealing under normal residential use. We will not put a number of years on it without seeing the slab.
Yes. Eight chip flake blends, solid colors and a clear grind-and-seal, plus texture levels from smooth to exterior grip. We bring physical samples to every quote.

No. Epoxy is rigid and yellows in sunlight. Our system is a polyurea basecoat under a polyaspartic topcoat: it stays flexible, so it moves with the slab through freeze and thaw, and it is UV stable so an open garage door will not fade it.
We repair cracks before coating, not with the coating. They are cut out, filled and ground flat first. Coating straight over a cracked slab gives you a finish that splits along the same lines within a year.
We remove it first. Coatings have to bond to bare concrete or they will not last, so the grind takes the paint off along with the top layer of the slab.
Yes. Stem walls, the step up into the house and the side pads are coated in the same visit, so there is no bare edge left to collect dirt and the whole garage reads as one surface.

Three things, and they all show up in Oregon. Epoxy yellows and chalks under UV, so any floor that sees an open garage door or a patio fades. It cures rigid, so when the slab moves through freeze and thaw the coating cannot move with it and it cracks or lifts. And it cures slowly, so you are typically off the floor for a week or more.
For an exposed, working floor in a wet climate, yes, and it is not close. Polyurea stays flexible, the polyaspartic topcoat is UV stable, and the whole system is back in service in days rather than a week or more. Where epoxy holds its own is a fully indoor floor with no sunlight and no temperature swing, installed by someone who preps the slab properly. That is a narrower case than the marketing suggests.
Polyaspartic is a type of polyurea. Chemists slowed its reaction down so it could be rolled by hand rather than sprayed, and made it UV stable and clear. That is why the industry uses a polyurea basecoat, which bonds and flexes, under a polyaspartic topcoat, which protects and stays clear. When we say polyurea system we mean both layers.

An epoxy kit over an acid-etched slab commonly starts lifting at the first hot tire. We will not put a number of years on it because nobody honest can without seeing the slab, but it is not a maintenance item.
Two reasons. The product is usually a water-based epoxy that is thin and soft. And the instructions call for acid etching instead of grinding, which does not open the concrete enough for anything to bond into it. The result peels where the tires sit, usually within the first year, and then it has to be ground off before a real coating can go down.

No. Exterior surfaces get a textured topcoat with additional grip. Tell us if you have a steep section or a pool deck and we will texture it heavier.
No. The polyaspartic topcoat is UV stable. Epoxy and most sealers yellow and chalk under direct sun; this does not.
Yes, and this is the right fix for it. Grinding removes the growth along with the top layer of concrete it was rooted in, and the coating leaves no pores for it to come back into.
Stamped concrete, yes: it is still a slab and gets ground and coated like any other. Pavers, no; they move individually and there is nothing continuous to bond to.

Yes. Custom floor graphics are embedded under the clear topcoat, so the design is protected by the same wear surface as the rest of the floor.
